What we buy

Wire and cable only, so the answer comes faster

We are not a general surplus dealer. Every load we review is electrical wire or cable, which means we can identify a reel from a jacket legend and price it without guesswork. New surplus, unused material, overstock, cancelled-project inventory and discontinued stock are all worth submitting.

Wire types and sizes

From a single partial reel to a full warehouse bay

Sizes are listed as they usually appear on reel tags. Multi-conductor cable is described by conductor count and AWG or MCM per conductor, for example 3/C 2/0 or 4/C #12 with ground.

Who we buy from

Businesses that end up holding extra wire

Surplus wire rarely appears on purpose. It comes from a job that changed, a spec that was revised, a plant upgrade, a cancelled project or a purchasing minimum that left more reels than the next job needed. We buy from the businesses that end up holding it.

  • Electrical contractors and commercial construction firms
  • Electrical distributors, wholesalers and independent supply houses
  • Manufacturers, machining, stamping and automation integrators
  • Steel, metals, plastics, food processing and pharmaceutical plants
  • Utilities, water and wastewater facilities, industrial maintenance contractors
  • Data centers, telecommunications and technology facilities
  • Hospitals, universities and research campuses
  • Warehousing, logistics and distribution operations
  • Demolition, renovation and facility decommissioning contractors

How it works

Submit, review, quote — in that order

There is no obligation to sell and no cost to submit. The review is the part that decides whether a load is a fit.

  1. Send details and photos

Use the quote form with the wire type, metal, gauge or MCM, voltage, approximate footage or reel count, condition and city. Add photos of the reels, jacket legends, tags and wire ends.

  2. We review and quote

We identify the product from the markings, check that the material is something we can place, and come back with a price or a short list of what is missing. Expect questions rather than a template reply.

  3. Coordinate next steps

If the quote is accepted, we agree on pickup or freight, loading requirements, paperwork and timing. If it is not accepted, we say so and explain what would change the outcome.

Why sellers call us

A straight answer about wire, not a sales pitch

Most surplus wire sits because nobody has time to identify it, and because a scrap price is not the same as a wire price. Our review separates the material that still has a service life from the material that only has metal value.

  • Wire and cable only, so identification is quick
  • Photos and jacket legends reviewed before anyone commits to a pickup
  • Pickup or LTL freight arranged once a load is accepted
  • No listing fees, no obligation and no cost to submit

Not every load is accepted. Condition, identification and quantity decide the outcome, and we will tell you plainly when something is not a fit.

Surplus wire questions, answered

What types of electrical wire do you buy in Indiana?

We buy building wire such as THHN, THWN and XHHW, industrial cable including MC, tray cable, VFD and control cable, service entrance and underground cable such as SER, SEU, URD and USE-2, bare and insulated copper, aluminum wire and cable, welding cable, SOOW and flexible cord, communication and fire alarm cable, and medium or high voltage cable from 5kV up to 69kV and above.

Do you buy partial reels and leftover cut lengths?

Yes. Partial reels, short cut lengths, opened cartons and warehouse overstock are a normal part of what we review. Send the approximate footage, the gauge or MCM and a photo of the reel tag or jacket legend so the material can be identified accurately.

Will you buy used wire, or only new surplus?

New surplus and unused material are the easiest to place, but used and pulled wire is reviewed case by case. It needs to be identifiable, with an intact jacket and legible markings. Send photos of the wire ends and the printed legend before assuming it is a fit.

How is surplus wire priced?

Price depends on the conductor metal, the type and gauge, the quantity, how well the material is identified, its condition, and where it sits in Indiana. Copper and aluminum are priced against the current market, so we quote after reviewing your photos rather than publishing a fixed price list.

Do you pick up wire, or do I have to ship it?

Both are possible. Larger loads are usually collected by truck at your dock or yard, and smaller lots can move by LTL freight or be dropped at a carrier terminal. Tell us what loading equipment is on site so the pickup can be planned correctly.

Do you buy transformers, switchgear or breakers?

No. This service buys electrical wire and cable only. Transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery and vehicles are outside what we purchase.

Photos

Most useful: whole reels or spools, the printed cable markings and jacket legend, reel tags and labels, and a clear photo of the wire ends. Phone photos are fine.

Submitting this form does not commit you to sell and does not guarantee a purchase. We review condition, identification and quantity before quoting.
