Questions and answers
What types of electrical wire do you buy in Indiana?
Building wire (THHN, THWN, THWN-2, XHHW, XHHW-2), industrial cable (MC, AC, tray cable, VFD, PLTC, control, instrumentation), service entrance and underground cable (SER, SEU, URD, USE-2), bare and insulated copper, aluminum wire and cable, welding cable, SOOW and flexible cord, communication, low-voltage and fire-alarm cable, and medium or high voltage cable from 5kV to 69kV and above.
Do you buy partial reels, spools and cut lengths?
Yes. Partial reels and unused cut lengths are the most common thing we review. Give the approximate footage and a photo of the reel tag so the remaining length can be estimated.
Will you buy used or pulled wire?
Sometimes. Used wire is reviewed case by case and needs an intact jacket and readable markings. Wire that has been stripped, burned or heavily weathered is usually a scrap metal item rather than a reusable cable.
How do you price surplus wire?
The type, metal, gauge or MCM, voltage class, conductor count, quantity, condition, identification and location all affect price. Copper and aluminum content is priced against the current market at the time of the quote. We do not publish a fixed price list.
Do you charge to review a load?
No. Review and quoting are free, and there is no obligation to accept an offer.
Can you pick up the wire?
Yes, for accepted loads. Pickup is arranged by truck for larger quantities; smaller lots can move by LTL freight. Tell us about dock access, forklift availability and any site rules when you submit.
Do you buy wire outside Indiana?
The site is focused on Indiana sellers, and most pickups are in the state. If you are just across a state line with a significant quantity, ask before assuming.
What information do you need to quote?
Wire type, metal, size, voltage, conductor count, approximate footage or reel count, condition, packaging, the city and ZIP where it sits, and photos of the reels, jacket legends and wire ends.
What do you not buy?
Transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery and vehicles. Wire and cable only.
Do you buy new surplus that is still sealed?
Yes. Sealed reels with legible tags are the simplest loads to quote, and the photos needed are usually just the tag and the reel face.
How is payment handled?
Payment terms are agreed in writing with the quote, before anything moves. Details depend on the load, the paperwork you need and whether the material is collected or shipped.
Will you sign a release or provide paperwork?
Yes. Certificates of recycling, bills of lading and release forms can be arranged for accepted loads. Tell us what your company requires when you submit.
Still not sure whether it is worth submitting?
If the wire is identifiable and there is more than a few hundred feet, it is worth a look. Send one photo of the reel tag and a short note; that is enough for a first opinion.
