Wire & cable we buy
Sell industrial, tray and VFD cable in Indiana
MC, AC, tray cable, TC-ER, VFD, PLTC, control, instrumentation and shielded cable from plants, integrators and contractors across Indiana.
Industrial cable is where surplus gets complicated. A plant upgrade can leave tray cable, VFD cable, control cable and instrument cable from four different specifications, some of it still sealed and some of it cut and re-taped. Integrators accumulate the same mix from panel builds and cancelled equipment orders.
This category is reviewed by construction, not by appearance. Tray cable and VFD cable look similar on a reel and behave very differently in a quote. The print on the jacket identifies the type, the voltage rating, the conductor count and often the standard the cable was built to.
We buy identifiable industrial cable in reels, partial reels and unused cut lengths. Where a lot is genuinely mixed, we quote it as groups and confirm the count at pickup.
What we buy in this category
- MC and AC cable, including HCF and aluminum-armored types
- Tray cable TC and TC-ER, exposed-run rated
- VFD cable with overall shield and ground symmetry
- PLTC and industrial ethernet cable
- Control cable, multi-conductor, shielded or unshielded
- Instrumentation cable, individually shielded pairs and triads
- Armored and interlocked cable in partial reels
- Unused cut lengths from panel builds and upgrades
Industrial cable types and identification
These are the types most often offered by Indiana plants and integrators, with the print that confirms each one.
| Cable type | What it usually is | What to send |
|---|---|---|
| MC cable | Metal-clad cable with conductors in an interlocked armor, 600V | Print showing MC and the conductor count |
| AC cable | Armored cable with a bonding strip, 600V | Photo of the armor and the printed type |
| Tray cable (TC / TC-ER) | Multi-conductor power and control cable rated for tray installation | Legend with TC or TC-ER and the AWG |
| VFD cable | Shielded cable for variable frequency drives, with symmetrical grounds | Print showing the shield construction and voltage |
| PLTC | Power-limited tray cable for control and signal circuits | Reel tag and the printed PLTC rating |
| Control cable | Multi-conductor 600V cable, often numbered and shielded | Photo of the conductor count and shield |
| Instrumentation cable | Shielded pairs or triads for signal wiring | Print showing pair count and shield type |

Lead length matters. A 40-foot cut of VFD cable is not the same product as a 1,000-foot reel. Note the length of every cut, and keep sealed reels separate from opened ones in the photos.
What makes a submission easy to price
Industrial cable submissions succeed when each distinct construction is photographed once, clearly.
- One photo per construction, with the print readable
- Conductor count and AWG or MCM for each type
- Voltage rating, especially for 1kV and 2kV cable
- Whether the cable is shielded, armored or both
- Approximate length per reel or cut, and the number of pieces
Condition and quantity
Sealed factory reels are straightforward. Photograph the tag and the reel face, and list the print on the jacket.
Opened reels and cut lengths are reviewed on length and identification. Cable that has been dragged through a plant may still be usable, but it is priced as used material and the jacket condition is part of the review.
Cable with crushed armor, exposed shield or water ingress is usually declined. Note any damage in the description rather than leaving it for the pickup.
Request a quote

Describe each cable construction separately, add the footage per reel, and photograph the printed legend.
- Photos speed up review more than anything else
- Cable markings, jacket legends and reel tags help us identify the product
- No obligation and no cost to submit

Industrial cable questions
Do you buy VFD cable with the shield exposed at the ends?
Yes. Exposed shield at a cut end is normal. What matters is that the jacket and shield are intact along the length and that the print identifies the cable.
Can a plant sell a mixed lot of tray, control and instrument cable?
Yes. List each construction as its own group with footage and reel count. Mixed lots are quoted as groups rather than as a single material.
Do you buy MC cable in partial coils?
Partial coils and short lengths are reviewed, but the length has to justify handling. Note the approximate length of each coil.
What if the cable has no print left?
Without identification, industrial cable usually has to be treated as metal recovery. A legible section of print, a reel tag or a purchase record can still establish what it is.
